CloseThe International Primate Protection League
The International Primate Protection League (IPPL) is the only organisation in the world with the specific aim of protecting and conserving all non-human primates. Most people have heard about the plight of the majestic great apes but there are also numerous other primates in danger. Primates include lemurs, lorises, monkeys and apes, and many species are threatened with extinction. Since IPPL was founded in 1973, we have built an international grassroots network, with field representatives in more than 25 countries working to protect wild populations. IPPL's award-winning work has included exposing illegal smuggling rackets and achieving primate export bans in a number of countries.
