Survival is the only international organization supporting tribal peoples worldwide. Founded in 1969, Survival campaigns for tribal peoples' rights to live on their own land in peace. While international law recognizes this right, many national governments do not. Land ownership is crucial to the future of tribal peoples. With their lands secure, tribes can play their rightful part in today's world; without it they cannot survive. Survival is funded entirely by concerned members of the public and some foundations.
