CloseSobell House Hospice Charity
Sobell House Hospice Charity supports Sobell House in Oxford. Sir Michael Sobell gave a large donation to build the original Hospice and requested that the finished building was given to Oxfordshire Health Authority.
Sobell House opened in 1976, providing a 20 bed unit for Oxfordshire patients with life-limiting illnesses. A Day Centre, Community Nurses, Bereavement Care, Pastoral Care, and Complimentary Therapies are some of the services that are provided. The Charity raised funds to build a new hospice, on the same site, which opened in 2003.
The Hospice provides specialist palliative care for approximately 3,200 patients every year and costs around £3.7million every year.
