Kids Company was established by Camila Batmanghelidjh in 1996 in order to provide practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people. Many of the 12,000 children who come to Kids Company have experienced severe and multiple trauma. Often these are 'lone children' living in chronic deprivation, with little or no support from the adults in their family. At Kids Company we offer a safe, caring, family environment in which children's behaviour is understood in the context of their emotional pain and life experiences. We never turn a child away no matter how challenging their behaviour.
