CloseCombat Stress
Combat Stress is the leading charity specialising in the care of Veterans' mental health. Founded 90 years ago (in May 1919), we have supported almost 100,000 Veterans of every campaign that British Forces have been involved in since the First World War. We currently have approximately 4,000 ex-Service men and women in our care, our youngest Veterans are only 20 years old. Many are suffering from chronic psychological conditions such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). To help them rebuild their lives, we provide:
- A community outreach service - delivered nationally through a network of Mental Health Practitioners, Community Psychiatric Nurses and Regional Welfare Officers. Access to specialist clinical treatment - within a unique, and entirely safe, peer-group setting - at one of our short-stay residential centres in Ayrshire, Shropshire and Surrey. With 1,257 new cases referred to us last year alone, we are under constant pressure to meet an ever growing need for our unique help. Please support our work in whatever way you can. Thank you.
