The African Conservation Foundation (ACF) is working to preserve Africa's wildlife by conducting field projects as well as supporting and linking conservation initiatives throughout the continent. Projects include great ape (gorilla and chimpanzee) conservation, environmental education for schoolchildren, tree planting and rainforest conservation, and protected area management. Their overall goal is to change the approach of the management and utilization of natural resources to one in which the needs of human development in the region are reconciled with environmental conservation.
